Delete your ClearReceipt account
Last updated: October 20, 2026
This page is for the ClearReceipt app (iPhone and Android), provided by the ClearReceipt Team. You only have an account if you signed in with Apple or Google; without one, your receipts stay on your phone and there is nothing to delete here.
How to delete your account
- Open ClearReceipt and go to the Settings tab.
- At the top of Settings, in the card that shows your name and how you signed in, tap Delete account.
- Read the message and confirm. On an iPhone with Sign in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm once more, so that your Apple sign-in for ClearReceipt can be revoked.
The account is deleted right away, and you are signed out.
Delete some of your data, without deleting your account
- One receipt: open it in ClearReceipt and tap Delete. Its details are removed from all your phones and from our servers.
- A project or a category: open Projects or Categories from Settings and delete it. For a project you choose whether its receipts move to the Default project or are deleted with it.
- Photos in Google Drive: delete them in Google Drive, in the ClearReceipt folder, or disconnect Google in Settings.
Retention: when you delete a receipt, our servers keep only a deletion marker for 30 days, so that phones that were offline also remove it. After that the marker is deleted too. Can’t use the app? Email byteplumber2026@gmail.com and tell us what to delete; we do it within 30 days.
Can’t open the app? Delete the whole account by email
Email byteplumber2026@gmail.com from the email address of your account (or tell us which Apple or Google account you used), with the subject “Delete my ClearReceipt account”. We delete the account and its data within 30 days and confirm by email.
What is deleted
- Your account: sign-in details, email address, name and user ID.
- Everything stored with your account on our servers: receipt details (merchant, date, amounts, category, project), projects, categories, learned merchant categories, shared settings, the date your free trial started, and your cloud-reading usage count.
- On iPhone with Sign in with Apple: ClearReceipt’s access to your Apple account is revoked.
What is kept
- Receipts on your phone. They stay on the phone until you delete them in the app or uninstall it.
- Photos in your Google Drive. They are in your own Google account, in the ClearReceipt folder. We can’t delete them for you: delete the folder in Google Drive, or remove ClearReceipt’s access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Your subscription. Deleting the account does not cancel it. Cancel it in Google Play (Payments and subscriptions) or in your Apple ID settings (Subscriptions).
- Purchase records. Google, Apple and RevenueCat keep the records of a purchase for as long as they need them to run your subscription and to meet legal obligations. We don’t control that retention.
